The Digital Photographer – Post Processing with Ron Keeney - Enjoy a demonstration and discussion on how to do post-processing of your digital photos using Adobe Photoshop Elements, Lightroom and the free program PICASA. Best uses and pros and cons of each program will be highlighted and outlined. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the instructor during the live demonstration. You are invited to bring an image to be processed in front of the class (as time allows). TBA Advanced Digital Photography - Learn the creative side of using an adjustable 35mm digital single-lens reflex camera, including how to use manual features of your camera, creating custom compositions ans setting your own exposures. Learn also about ISO and modes, manual focus vs. auto-focus, lenses available for your camera and how to use basic filters, close-up lenses, macro and flash photography. Also covered is composition and framing, such as the rules of thirds, using diagonals, etc. Students will be required to bring their own digital camera. TBA at the St. Marys Center. $75 The Mobile Image – Mobile Photography “The Best camera is the one you have with you” is becoming a common phrase these days in the era of ever-improving smartphone cameras. The high quality camera in smartphones has become increasingly popular while the images they produce can be remarkably amazing. Photographers no longer have to carry around large DSLRs and a bag full of lenses to produce stellar images. We will explore both the advantages and current limitations to these tiny cameras and explore a variety of techniques to improve your mobile images. We will also look at a number of popular apps that allow you to customize both your shooting experience and the resulting images. TBA; 10:00am - 2:00pm at the St. Marys Center. $55 Basic Digital Photography - If you are interested in learning more about how to use your digital camera besides just “pointing and shooting” then you will want to take this course. You will learn about framing, composition, and creativity in taking great pictures. Topics will include taking not just good, but great pictures; introducing basic camera functions and their uses; taking pictures beyond the ordinary; and handling special scenes, including backlit scenes, sports and action photos, family and children portraits, landscapes, close-ups, and macro photography. You will need to bring your own digital camera. TBA; 5:30pm - 8:30pm at the St. Marys Center. $75
