Funded through state and federal grants administered by the Division of Adult Education, classes are offered at the CareerLinks ® McKean and Potter counties; at the Community Education Center in Elk County; and at the McKean County Jail. 

Instruction includes an emphasis on basic skills, GED®  preparation, and workforce development. Adult students are encouraged to set goals related to continuing education and employment. Instructors also serve as case managers and assist students in achieving these goals through advocacy and referrals to appropriate agencies. Distance learning also is available through a collaborative effort with Pennsylvania’s Distance Learning Project. 
 
Language Arts 
  • Language Arts 1, 2, and 3 classes
  • Reading comprehension and writing for success in the workplace
  • Reading and writing skills for the Reasoning Through Language Arts GED® test, including the essay.
Math 
  • Math 1, 2, and 3 classes
  • Improve mathematics skills like fractions, decimals, proportions, etc. 
  • Work on Algebra
  • Prepare for the Reasoning Through Mathematics GED® test
Science 
  • One Science class
  • Improve science knowledge and thinking skills
  • Prepare for the Science GED® test while studying Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth and Space Science
Social Studies
  • One Social Studies class 
  • Prepare for the Social Studies GED® test
  • Cover topics like Economics, Civics and Government, and Geography
